Adult Summer Reading Programs

“Adventure Begins at Your Library”

From June 13th until August 7, the South Park Library invites you to join us for some “adventures” in this year’s summer reading programs.  For every adult audio/book that you read or program that you attend, you will be given a ticket to fill out for a chance to win gift cards to help you plan an adventure. This prize is for adults only.  The prize drawing will take place on Thursday, August 8th. In addition to the random prize drawing, we will now give a gift card prize to whomever fills out the most tickets!

“Why We Read: On Bookworms, Libraries and Just One More Page Before Lights Out” Author Shannon Reed - a Memoir That Explores What Fascinates Us

Wednesday, July 31 at 6:30 pm in the Community Center

(Amazon) We read to escape, to learn, to find love, to feel seen. We read to encounter new worlds, to discover new recipes, to find connection across difference, or simply to pass a rainy afternoon. No matter the reason, books have the power to keep us safe, to challenge us, and perhaps most importantly, to make us more fully human.

Shannon will be selling her book for $20.00 (cash, please) and donating half the proceeds to the library!  If you are a book lover, you won't want to miss this!
