Teens and Tweens are invited to the library to pick up a take-home craft kit in celebration of Cinco de Mayo!

Each kit includes a brief history of the holiday, a package of delicious Mexican Wedding Cookies, and all the materials you'll need to create your very own Huichol Yarn Painting. This vibrant art form is inspired by the sacred Nierikas of the Huichol people of Central Mexico.

Explore the rich culture and traditions of the Huichol people while discovering the symbolism behind their beautiful yarn paintings and the significance of Cinco de Mayo. Create your own masterpiece from the comfort of your home with this kit!

Kits will be available for pickup starting May 1st and can be collected throughout the month. Registration is required and will be open throughout May until all kits are reserved.

Please note that the South Park Library’s programs are designed with specific age limits in mind to align with the developmental skills and needs of each age group, ensuring an appropriate and engaging environment for all participants.

These take-home kits are exclusively for tweens and teens aged 10 to 18.
