Tick Talk: Tips, Prevention, and a South Park Hike

Wednesday, February 19 from 12:30pm to 3:00pm in the library

Did you know that ticks can transmit more than just Lyme disease? Since tick bites are often painless, it’s easy to miss them. Lyme disease is on the rise with 1,485 cases reported in Allegheny County alone. While ticks are most active in the warmer months, theyc an show up whenever temperatures are above freezing.

Join Nick from the Allegheny County Health Department for an informative presentation about Lyme disease and the ticks you’ll find in PA. In our 45-minute talk, you’ll learn prevention, removal and understand more about these tiny pests. Stick around for a Q&A session.

After the talk, we’ll head out for an easy-paced guided two-mile hike in South Park. Come for the important information, stay for the fresh air!  Please register.
