Program Description

Body

“All across the city, streets ripped open. Buildings swayed. Walls crumbled and houses came crashing down. Broken glass, hunks of wood, and piles of bricks tumbled into the streets.”

― Lauren Tarshis, I Survived the San Francisco Earthquake, 1906

Calling all fans of the I Survived series! Tweens ages 10-12 are invited to join our I Survived Book Club. Join us on the first Monday of every month where we will delve into a different book from the series while enjoying snacks as well as crafts and activities based on the book selection!

We will be reading I Survived the San Francisco Earthquake, 1906 by Lauren Tarshis for our meeting. Join us as we discuss the book, watch fascinating historical footage of the aftermath, and participate in an exciting earthquake challenge using just toothpicks and marshmallows! All materials provided.

Participants should read or listen to the book prior to the book club meeting. If you do not finish the entire book, you are still welcome to attend the event. Come by the front desk to check out your copy of the book.

If you are interested in joining our book club, please register.
