Program Description

Body

“A gigantic wave had crashed in to the streets – a swirling, raging monster moving faster than a train. It turned buildings to rubble. It smashed wagons and motorcars and tossed trucks into the harbor."

― Lauren Tarshis, I Survived the Great Molasses Flood, 1919

Calling all fans of the I Survived series! Tweens ages 10-12 are invited to join our I Survived Book Club. Join us on the first Monday of every month, where we will delve into a different book from the series while enjoying snacks as well as crafts and activities based on the book selection!

We will be reading I Survived the Great Molasses Flood, 1919 by Lauren Tarshis for our meeting. Join us for a discussion about the book, view historical footage of the real-life flood, and take part in a sweet hands-on activity: making mini pancakes together!

Participants should read or listen to the book prior to the book club meeting. If you do not finish the entire book, you are still welcome to attend the event. Come by the front desk to check out your copy of the book.

If you are interested in joining our book club, please register.
