Houseplants 101 – Growing Your Indoor Jungle

Thursday, July 24 at 6:30 in the Community Center

Ready to bring the vibrant hues of nature indoors? As part of our "Color Our World" adult summer reading program, we're excited to present "Houseplants 101: Growing Your Indoor Jungle!" presented by Anna Shaffer of Ruby Flora Plant Shop

Discover the joy and beauty of cultivating your own indoor oasis. This introductory session will cover the fundamentals of successfully growing houseplants, adding a splash of green and a breath of fresh air to your living spaces. Learn about:

  • Choosing the right plants: Explore a spectrum of houseplants, from lush leafy greens to vibrant flowering varieties, and learn which ones will thrive in your home's unique conditions (lighting, humidity, etc.).
  • Essential care tips: Master the basics of watering, fertilizing, and providing the right kind of light to keep your plants happy and healthy.
  • Potting and repotting: Understand when and how to pot or repot your plants to encourage healthy growth.
  • Troubleshooting common issues: Learn to identify and address common houseplant problems, like yellowing leaves or pests.
  • Creating your indoor jungle: Get inspired with ideas for arranging and displaying your plants to create a vibrant and inviting atmosphere.

Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to expand your indoor greenery, this workshop will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to cultivate a thriving "indoor jungle" and truly "color" your world from within. Please register.
