Tour of the Maxo Vanka Murals, Lunch & Shopping in Millvale 

Friday, May 30 – Bus leaves at 10:00 am 

Our first trip in July was such a success, we simply must go back! 

 It’s not just the story of one man’s journey to America; it’s the story of all of us. Maxo Vanka’s 25 powerful murals are one of Pittsburgh’s hidden gems. Painted in two intense periods – 1937 and 1941— in a church high above Millvale, the murals’ timeless tales leave viewers awestruck.  

We will leave the library at 10:10 am for an 11:00 am tour of the Maxo Vanka Murals at St. Nicholas Croation Church.  We will then go to Burghers Brewing Co. in Millvale for a delicious lunch  and we'll wrap up the afternoon by shopping at your choice of some of Millvale's charming little stores, including:" Abeille Voyante Tea Co, Steel City Salts, Lemontree Coffee, B Sides Vintage Clothing, McWalker Yarns, Yetter’s Candies, Attic Record store (vinyl), Jean Marc Chatellier’s French Bakery, Millvale Market, Lincoln Pharmacy and perhaps stop at the Millvale Library.  

Sign-ups begin on Wednesday, April 23 at 10:00 am either by phone or in person. The cost will be $65. Space is limited and payment is due Monday, May 19. If the trip sells out, please get on the wait list! There are always cancellations.
